County Championships
The Longwood Girls Varsity Bowling Team participated in the County Championships on Saturday February 9th. Going into the tournament, it was clear that the girls needed to be at their best to compete for a top spot. In the first game, the girls were a little tentative and scored an 898 game, good enough for 4th place out of the gate. From that point on the Lady Lions performance was inconsistent. They could only reach the 900 range twice and failed to get a 1000 game.
Kelly McDermott led the way with a 192 average and a 627 series in the morning session. Kelly, Kristen Kingsepp, Katrina Mower and Kristen Thristino each bowled games over 200 druing the day.
A fifth place finish at the championships was a bit disappointing, but should not take away from the record-setting season that this Longwood Girls Bowling Team compiled.
